So yeah. I’m participating this year~ Again. Lol I don’t know WHY I insist on doing stuff like this when I know I don’t have the time to finish it. ... BUT. I am doing alright with it so far. It took me from waking up to about lunch to get my 7 pages in (it takes me about this many pages to reach 1700 words, which is roughly what it takes to write this novel thing by the end of the month). And after I’d finished that, I was free to fluff around on the intarwebs for a bit. Aramii is doing their Halloween stuff (after Halloween is well and OVER, but hey - at least it’s happening I’ll stop complaining now), so I’ve been trying to click on the little links to get my hands on some spider webs, so that I can mark up my Halloweeeeeeeeny-looking customs. *crosses fingers* If I get one more caramel apple or some useless item though, I’m gonna flail and give up. Just for the record. You know.

I need more coffee. I should probably write some more, if only because if I do, it means I can slack off on other days. Yep. I’m bad. So far, I’ve got the highest word count on my writing buddies list, but that’s just because I’ve been off work for the past few days. When my regularly scheduled life resumes, I’ll probably end up pittering off with it. =\ Although I AM glad I’ve had the good judgment to be doing this stuff IMMEDIATELY after waking up. If only because, as the day goes on and as I run around like a madwoman, I no longer have the energy or desire to hit the keyboard, so to speak. Blah blah blah~

Strangely, I don’t hate what I’ve written so far. It has some major inconsistencies, because I’ve planned nothing and can’t seem to stick to terminology that makes any kind of logical sense (writing too fast, giving up on trying to make it sound sufficiently alien in favor of pushing the story along). But still. I don’t hate it. It’s not my best work and it’s SciFi this time, rather than Fantasy (although there are some strong fantasy elements to it), which isn’t the most familiar territory for me, despite my being a Star Trek geek-a-zoid... But I don’t hate it. I guess it’s good - not totally wanting to tear your own work apart. (Like last year cough cough.)
